Dollywood gets a new competitor; Pigeon Forge Zipline

July 3

Of course Dollywood is fun, there is no doubt about that but, there are other things to do in Pigeon Forge and the list just got bigger!  A new Pigeon Forge Zipline attraction called Adventure Ziplines of Sevierville just opened their doors to the public and it looks like it’s going to be a sweet success!

Location, location, location is the key to any new business and it’s ability to compete and the spot this new Pigeon Forge zipline is in could not be better. Directly across from Tanger Outlet Center at Five Oaks, it’s quite a site to look up and see happy people zipping along a cable . Their first day of operation was on Tuesday, June 29th and though they are still tweaking the landscape , this new adventure park is certainly ready to show folks visiting the Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and Sevierville area a good time!

With 6 towers that begin in the hills surrounding the Parkway and end up right at the Parkway, this new zipline will definitely attract a lot of attention as well as visitors. I haven’t had a chance to take the tour yet but it won’t be long because that final line that heads towards Five Oaks Tanger Outlet Center looks like some extreme fun!

I think I’m going right now! Have a great day I’m outta here!   ;)

This fall would be a great time to take the the Dollywood Express!  This coal-fired steam engine will take you and your family  on an unforgettable  journey through the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. Just to ride on a train is enough reason to venture to Pigeon Forge but when you add in the surroundings of the fall colors this is truly, a “no brainer” .

The fun can also continue on into the night as you take in a dinner and a show at the famous Black Bear Jamboree on the parkway in Pigeon Forge. Here in this $10,000,000 Pigeon Forge attraction your family can experience some wonderful entertainment and a country feast fit for a king!  Check out their website for a money saving coupon as well and then you might want to use that money to get another great value, the “Parkhopper Pass”!

With this pass you will be in for a lot of fun at your choice of amusement centers in the Pigeon Forge area. Featuring 8 go cart tracks, 3 laser tag arenas, arcades and an indoor,  blacklight,  putt-putt golf course this is family entertainment at it’s best!  With the pass,  you will be welcome at any of their 4 locations and can “mix and match” any 5 attractions to suit you. Maybe play all 3 lasertag arenas, ride go carts once and finish up your family night with a game of putt putt. With the “Parkhopper Pass” each member of your group gets to choose what they want to do so the kids can use all 5 of their available events to ride go carts while mom and dad compete at laser tag or mini golf.

So load up the family and head to Pigeon Forge but be sure to get a good night’s sleep before you come because as you can see the fun never stops in Pigeon Forge! Try go carts while visiting Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg

September 28

So you and the kids have spent the day at Dollywood an your energy is running low but not theirs…so what do you do? Well there is one activity that has stood the test of time and always seems to be a family favorite; racing go carts! Our area is known for some great go cart action and some excellent fast tracks to maximize the level of fun.  As a matter of fact someone recently asked Cha-Cha “Where is the fastest go-kart track in the US?” and the answer they gave was:”Pigeon Forge Tennessee”!

Oh sure they have go carts at  Wild Woody and Ober Gatlinburg but if you don’t mind driving a few more miles to Pigeon Forge you will have your choice of many more tracks!  StarTracks has a great reputation for speed and a slick track to make those curves a real thrill! They also offer special deals with their “Parkhopper pass” which enables you to ride any of 7 tracks they own throughout Pigeon Forge including:

  1. SpeedZone
  2. LazerPort  and
  3. Rockin Raceway

Still not convinced Pigeon Forge is the place for go carts? Well besides all the great tracks above you have even more choices and just by driving up and down the parkway you will find them all!

In the next few days I will do some investigating and find out more about the tracks around Pigeon Forge but in the meantime you have enough go cart tracks to start with and I’m sure you will make everyone happy with some head to head racing in Pigeon Forge!

Dollywood sounds great this fall!

September 19

Some might think the Great Smoky Mountains area begins

to hibernate as the weather cools but they would be

wrong. Dollywood kicks off the fall in Pigeon Forge with

beautiful gospel sounds from 250 concerts echoing in the

valley.
This season Dolly Parton’s great theme park will present

the National Gospel and Harvest Celebration. So if you

should need a spiritual boost make plans to spend some

time in Pigeon Forge between October 2nd and 31st as

2009 starts to wind down.
Read it all at the Dollywood website

It’s all about the visitors!

September 17

Hello and welcome!

I’m a business owner in Pigeon Forge so naturally, I am going to include a link here and there to get your family or group to visit my website and eventually, my Pigeon Forge location.  This blog however has a larger purpose and can be beneficial to not only myself , but to other area business owners  in the Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg area.  By getting feedback from some of the families and groups that visit our beautiful mountains each year we can find out what we are doing good and do more of that and what we doing bad and do much less of that!  By using this public forum, area business owners can share what’s new at their location and visitors can share what they did while here and how their experience was. The tagline, “we take having fun seriously” means exactly that because as business owners in a resort area we are nothing without you, our valued visitors!

I want you to share your thoughts, funny stories and more when you visit here and also encourage you to subscribe to this feed to get updates on money saving coupons, new businesses that are opening and to see what others have to say about places you might be visiting while here on vacation.
