Constantly searching the web for what’s going on in and around Pigeon Forge sometimes I stumble upon some interesting stuff. It seems yet another directory of attractions has hit the world wide web. It looks very nice and as though someone has put a lot of work into it.
I didn’t realize we were getting a new Pigeon Forge zipline, well actually it’s on the border of Pigeon Forge and Sevierville at the Five Oaks Riding Stables location. Called Adventure Ziplines of Sevierville this looks like it’s going to be a pretty big deal. Offering horseback rides and now zipline rides, this place might just do alright. A lot of the other area zip line places are a little out of town but this one is smack dab in the middle of everything. Just a block from the bustling crowd that convenes on Governors Crossing, this will make ziplining in the Gatlinburg area convenient for our visitors to the Smokies.
If you get a chance and have the desire to see this new Pigeon Forge Attractions directory, see what you think. Are they going to give myPigeonForge, a long time popular area directory, a run for their money?
Check back soon as we will all take a closer look at the new Titanic attraction in Pigeon Forge. I sure hope Dolly can compete with all these new family fun places popping up .
Seeya soon!

In honor of those special people who serve and have served our country,on Nov. 11th at Ripley’s Aquarium Plaza there will be a musical tribute to salute America’s veterans. From Nov. 27th until Dec. 20th, you can listen to storytellers, caroling and enjoy some unique entertainment along the Parkway on Friday and Saturday nights.

It’s Christmas time so let the fun begin!
On your next visit to Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg you will be greeted with millions of colorful little lights as Winterfest is now under way. From the time you get off the I40 interstate exit until you start up the mountain at the end of Gatlinburg, you will be delighted by the glow of Christmas lights and the familiar scenes of Santa, reindeer and snowmen.
Just because the weather is cooling off and the days aren’t quite as long is no reason to stay home by the furnace! Put a light coat, jacket or sweater on, gather up dad and the kids and come see the beautiful displays in the Smokies. The Sevier county area has really worked hard to make the cities of Sevierville, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg come to life around Christmas and the hard work has paid off. Winterfest gets bigger and better every year and you should, if possible, plan a trip to this impressive Tennessee county.
Christmas joy is yours to have by just “getting in the spirit” and taking a ride down Dolly Parton Parkway!

Belz mall is located right off the Dolly Parton Parkway in Pigeon Forge on a lesser known road called Tester Lane. With an impressive 450,00 sq. feet of indoor shopping space, it’s no wonder why this mall is visited by so many people on “Black Friday”! Oh, and do you know why they call it that? It’s not because it’s a depressing day for managers and store staff but it’s in reference to the ink; red ink is bad, black ink is great!
This mall has 85 stores for you to choose from so finding what you are needing for the people on your Christmas list should be no problem. (I’m not going to list them all here so if you would like to know more details please visit their Pigeon Forge website).
Being a part of this Smoky mountains landscape since 1987, this mall has become a favorite place for “the girls” who plan shopping trips from surrounding states. Coming here in groups of 3 or 4 to do nothing but spend their money on the people they love and have a good time doing it!
With retailers wondering what this shopping season will bring, there is a good chance you will find coupons, discounts and specials this year as you shop the area stores. Look around for some of the area guides and coupon books so you can get the most for your money when you and your “posse” visit the Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge area this year.
In our next post we will take a closer look at the stores available to you in this “shopper’s paradise” known as “the Smokies”.

Pigeon Forge is known for some great entertainment and today we are going to talk about some of the shows waiting for you here.
The kids know about the black bears in the Great Smokies but there is one place that really gets their attention in downtown Pigeon Forge and that’s at the “Black Bear Jamboree!” Their eyes light up as the magic of the bears unfolds before them and the parents get to listen to some unforgettable music from the “Black Bear Jamboree Band”. If that’s not enough to entice you to visit I hear the food is very good and if you look around a little you will find some coupons online to save you money.
If magic is what you’re looking for to give your family a new experience you won’t want to miss “Magic Beyond Belief”. International star Terry Evanswood performs his illusions in front of amazed audiences year round in Pigeon Forge and brings joy to the hearts of young and old alike. This great production should be included in your list of shows to see in Pigeon Forge!
When it comes to leaving all your worries behind there is nothing like a good laugh to do it and the Comedy Barn is just the place for that! This theater is known for their comedy skits featuring good clean family fun. From jugglers to fire-eaters, your kids will walk away with memories to last a lifetime as they spend a night with mom and dad laughing it up! You might want to top off the night with some fun go kart racing at Startracks, just a few steps away!
Next time you return we will look at some more shows and theaters including: Dolly Parton’s “Dixie Stampede”, “The Blackwoods” and “Country Tonight” theaters!
